NASSCOM has been benchmarked for most of the US companies in india HP, Dell, IBM, Oracle, AT&T etc along with GE, Ford are some on the list where there are thousands of employees whose data has been a social concern, hence the indian companies have implied to manoeuvre NASSCOM in patnership for working towards implementing the policy for rigorous verification of every detail.

One component in most of the companies have the pre-employment verification as people applying have maximum of false info provide at the time of interview. NASSCOM has inturn is associated with NSR >> this has a database which scans through the data provided by the companies and sends reports to its team functioning for verification. The documents produced are inveterated by phone, managerial verification, address & tenure verification, bio-metric verification etc. recorded and sent to clients, prior validation by the employer the data is therefore stored in their nationalised database.

Dear Shilpi,

National Skills Registry (NSR) is a NASSCOM initiative to have a credible information repository about all persons working in the IT / ITeS industry. NASSCOM has spearheaded the Industry initiative of developing and maintaining a national database of registered and verified workforce for its member companies. This database is called "National Skills Registry”.

The profiles of employees in the IT / ITeS industry are uniquely identified based on bio-metrics (photographs and finger prints) and hold credible and objectively verifiable data about employees including results of background check conducted by a professional third parties. The NSR constitutes a trusted and permanent fact sheet of information about each employee. NSR is a web-based system that can be used by the IT / ITeS industry and its clients as a credible source of information about the employees who have registered themselves on NSR. This is a global security best practice for the industry and assures identity security, industry acceptance for employees.

This database can be used by the IT / ITeS industry and its clients as a credible source of information about the registered employees who are employed or being put on client assignments. This constitutes a postive confirmation of the antecedents of a candidate / prospective employee.
