Hello, to all the knowledgeable people out here.

I have been reading and following CITE HR and the CITE group of websites and have gained a lot of knowledge, and appreciate greatly the way people going out of the way to help each other, its amazing whats happening here..

My query is,

I resigned my job in August as a Systems Administrator (15 months), at a MNC, as i had career aspirations (technology wise) that were not being realized, also the main reason being, (my dad got retired and brothers engagement,) and my parents were getting depressed me not being with them in their need).

so went home helped my dad with some property matter, and build our house, i'm glad i was able to do that..2 months went by then my dad had a major accident and now it is 6 months after i left my last job.

the last 4 months went by in Hospitals, and taking care of my dad, mom (hell of a experience at the hospitals) literally living in them.

and im glad i was able to be there.

now my dad is kind of stable and i can get back to work,

during this gap i did two Microsoft certifications to make the time worth.

soon i will be giving interviews,

Guys, i would like to give the HR or the interviewers a justification about the Gap.

please advice me on this, so that i can sufficient and satisfactory explanation professionally.

also, will it affect my package, if i justify...?

I needed a HR point of view on this, so posted in this section.

My work experience: 2.5 yrs both in MNC in the same skillset.

Thanks a lot, lot.. for all the help...

Hello Anonymous,
Well i think you should discuss all your problems with interview panne if it is required. If they ask you to disclose it. Or else you can mention that due to some personal reasons you were unemployed..

Hello Anonymous,
I completely agree with the inputs given by Mr. Moger. If interview pannel asks you regarding the gap, you can explain the real situation and also you will be able to show them your fathers medical certificate as evidence.
So, don't think much about the gap of 6 months and be confident.

Well,
Companies do not hire you only for your skills. If they do, then it must be only for seasonal jobs. They hire "You" and that "you" has several elements in it. Skills are one of them.
I believe what ever may be the gap period, it always helps if you stick to the reasons and communicate what you have experienced during that period. Also you may share how beside these difficulties you managed to complete two certifications of Microsoft. That is an achievement.
Yes there are possibilities that the panel might relate you to other fake candidates. But you have enough evidence to prove them wrong.
And above all you have just started your career. Long way to go...Don't worry...'

Dear Brother:
Never have a 'fly by night' approach in your dealings. If six months have been taken up by emergent family needs -- they can come up any time with anyone -- there is absolutely NO REASON for faking an excuse, If you do so you'll only be harming yourself. Always dare to be honest, and you'll never regret the decision. I wish you well.

Hi Dear,
Everyone has their personal reasons and sharing the personal reason doesn't showcase that you are trying to get anyone's sympathy. It's all about being true to yourself. Every organization would like to have an employee who is true to this duties. You did duties towards our family and even when you are with any organization this may also will put an impact that you will be true to their organization.
So don't try hiding / lying to your self. Becuase you can lie to others but indirectly you are making fool of yourself.
