I am an experience IT professional (12+) joined in a Media Company about 3 years ago, at the time of joining I surprised to see my designation it was entry level designation of IT, that time HR told me that it happened from company’s headquarter, but it will take more than 3 months and suggest me to accept this offer letter first then they will process correction of designation.
My Situation was very bad due to lack of salary payment of my previous company and under the recession of IT sector so that I accept offer letter on joining day.
My roll on present company as per my experience as well as some more responsibility not directly fit on my profile but my designation still maintain like a entry level IT professional.
I am getting half salary in compare to 5 year back. I don’t have problem with my technical skill, but underpaid and junior designation bond me to work as bonded labour.
I want to switch my company need to back IT sector. Please suggest what should I do?

Dear Employer
My advice to u don\'t fill any inferiority with comparison with others. You search other similar job as per your qualification.Money not a matter of things when you show your performance in your present job you may have chance of draw the attention of HR manager and may be your present designation and salary hike.

Many companies do goof up such designations so that people do not leave them. Many of the manufacturing industries also have such designations like a railway compartment series, Staff-1, 2,3,4,5,6... Executive / Engineer - 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc., by the time they get to become a manager it takes about 20 years which is almost the life span of many organizations.
But a few innovative organizations do give fancy designations, but at the end money does matter in many cases.
Take an appropriate decision, you are best judge of your destiny.
All the best.

Your hr said it will take 3 months to change the esic nation
But you said you are working for 3 years
I didn't understand the mismatch.
Did you go and ask them again for the change ?
You should not have waited for 3 years to change from a low paying job
Recession made little difference to the salaries and demand for good designers.
Apply for new jobs. Show them the type of work you have done, change should not be a problem

Thanks Swasta,
After joining I have moved my application through HOD but did not get proper response, every time told me that takes one month and two month s...after that I was telling what is the reason behind it then they told me If you designated properly then you switch your job ,because I had over burden with responsibility and work they did not want to lose me as an employee.
I don't want to unfair activities for switching job and taking risk like that due to lot of responsibility of my family and no other source of income.

You are working for a company that is very short sighted, apparently
Well, apply anyway to new companies.
During interview tell them theynhave given lower designation but this is the work I am doing and this is my responsibility. Mostly the recruiters will consider that, not what your designation says.
If possible get HR to give you a job description which you can show during an interview

Search for new job. properly explain your situation to new company HR, technical people (interviewer). you may show your skills in test they will conduct. face it with positive attitude. leave your present company as soon as possible because it does not worth working for it. you can restart your career with small but growing companies.
