You can take the responsibility of key as you reach early most often. If you are really a responsible person then company will not hesitate to handover the keys to you.

Hi Yogita,
Its good to see and very appreciable discipline in your office log in time. No need to offense, Since this is the scenario with many of small and young organizations. You can actually stop them blaming you with the below ways.
As you are reaching early on every day, You can ask or put a request to the concerned person to handle over the key to you, Which makes more sense in a way of opening the office at-least a 30 mins before for all other employee comfort ability who logs in a little before to the office. On the other hand, You can start coming late, to convey your importance of discipline towards lo gin time, which makes them to review their blaming s on their own.
Either case is fine, But you should ensure that you will not be falling into their criteria of blaming mode.

Is your office having only one key? If so, you can take the responsibility with the key. I hope all will leave the office at the same time (5.45 PM). You too can leave the office without delay.
If your office has many keys for the lock then it has to be shared with you.

Dear friends,
Yogita Mhapankar's situation is little tricky. For his/her own reason (due to transport problem) reaches office before time, but not as a matter of dedication to duty. So blaming others is not fair. The Admin.may have their own reason for not handing over the keys to him/her. With due respect to the queryist it appears the Admin. is not prepared to transfer the keys, may be it's better also not to take additional responsibilities as holding key is very sensitive matter and sometimes not having the keys avert unnecessary risks.

In our company we have security system, but some of the staff start working early and sit till late eve. So we have extra keys kept with admin department. Those who sit till late take key from admin department. And there is a file maintained by admin department to track the keys. It's the responsibility of the individual to keep the key without losing it. You can give this suggestion to your reporting officer. If this issue is faced by some other staff also in your company, then they might consider it. I am doubtful about individual case, but still you can talk to your reporting officer and find a solution.

Hi,
Handling keys to an individual might not be possible according to your organisation rules.
So its better to utilize your time rather than blaming the organisation.
Read the newspaper daily for half an hour...... which would be one good solution i think.

It is not advisable for the company to change it's policy on starting time in this case. You get to the office early by choice - you want to save yourself some transportation problems. So, please do not complain. The company must have weighed its options before deciding on the opening time. Take it in your stride and try to occupy yourself doing something (e.g. reading).

Dear Yogita,
In case you are in a service industry opening office half'n hour before may eventually be troublesome as the clients/customers shall start coming and you will be alone to manage. The problem can be overcome by taking a key of some side door( used only by staff).Otherwise it's best to find a secured place nearby and do some reading to enhance your knowlrdge.Mind you being alone in the office can be security risk also !
