Hi everyone,
I need your help regarding salary break up.
Ours is a garment manufacturing company. We all are getting salary and getting pay slips without any break ups like basic hra da and ta etc.
Now my doubt is how can an employer will get benefit if we gave breakups on salary.
Pls clarify,

It will be good for your company and your employees for making the salary break up bcs of the following reason
1. It will help your HR team to understand about the different factor or components of the salary.
2. It will also help your company in the compliance like minimum wages.Pf,ESI and others............
3. It will also help in the Income Tax for the higher paying salaries employees (TDS)
and i think many more benefits...... to employee as well as employer.......
You can make the salary break up as below mention
Basic - 40 % of Gross HRA - 40 % of Basic Conveyance - 800 /month Medical Allow- 1250/month Special Allowance - Balancing figure of Gross Salary

In addition to mahavir i also quote, that basic salary- 50%-60% of gross salary,
HRA- 30%-40% of basic salary,
Convy.- Rs. 800/- (above than that is taxable)
Medical Allo.- Rs. 1250/- (above than that is taxable)
Other Allowance - Balancing figure of Gross Salary

If i told the benefits to my senior officer in my company he told like it has some difficulties if breaks salary, so we are giving salary without any breakups. how can i explain him to do salary break up for compliance benefits. pls clarify

As i share above..... if you will do this it will help your in compliance like PF, ESI, TDS because these all things are not possible without salary break up details.

Hi everyone, I need your help regarding salary sliep in excel Sheet Ours is a machinery manufacturing company. We all are getting salary and not getting pay slips. Pls clarify, Thanks in advance.
1. Basic: 50% of Gross : Fully Taxable

2. HRA : Exempted up to certain conduction (need to produce house rent slips) – Sec 10(13 A) - 50 % of Basic (Metro) and 40 % of Basic (Non Metro)

3. Conveyance : Exempted up to 800 per month. – Sec 10(14)

4. Education & Hostel Exemption: Maximum Exempted 2400 p.a. (200 pm/ child upto 2 child) for education & 7200 p.a. (300 pm/ child upto 2 child) for Hostel based on no. of dependent children - Sec 10(14)

5. Telephone Reimbursement: Exempted upto Rs.1500 per month( Need to produce bills)- Sec 10

6. Medical: Exempted up to 1250 per month (need to produce Medical Bills) . - Sec 17(2)

7. Books & Periodical Reimbursement: Actual Expences ( Need to Produce Bills)

8. Vehicle Maintenance Reimbursement: Actual Expences ( Need to produce bills) - If the vehicle maintenance is given by you and the employee owns the vehicle, it is taxable in the hands of employee as under: -

* If the vehicle is Car - Actual amount spent by Employer Less [Rs.1, 200 p.m. for Cars up to 1.6 CC (Rs.1, 600 p.m. for > 1.6 CC) and Driver Salary of Rs.600 p.m.]

* Any other vehicle, like Two Wheeler, Actual amount spent by Employer Less Rs.600 p.m.

9. LTA : You can claim exemption for up to two journeys in a block of four calendar years. There are predetermined blocks of four calendar years; the first block began in 1986 to 1989, the next block was 1990 to 1993 and so on. The current block is 2010 to 2013.

10. Special Allowances: Balancer - Fully Taxable

Kindly find attached sample of salary slip in Excel, you can modify according to your requirement. if required any help, kindly lemme know..

dear priya,
as i would like eloborate the above issue.
1. company can settle the bonus and gratuity only on the basis of the basic what an employee is drawing.
2. it will be easier for calculation of ESI, PF and PT and TDS too.
3. Finally the employees growth and increment will be judged only incase of increase in basic only.
i think i am right. inform me if i am wrong .
