Dears,
I have 2 critical questions, need to know from our expert what is the perfect answer for it :
What is the distinction in principle between the role of the ER specialist and the role of line management team?
What is the distinction between the role of the ER specialist and the role of line management team in dealing with : Disciplinary Action , Handling Absence and time keeping , and Handling Grievances ,equal opportunities and performance and performance management?
Thanks,,

It all, as per my observation, depends up on the company's policy as to what role it entrusts to ER specilaist and line mangement inrespect of disciplinary action and other industrial relations matters. However, the normal practice is the line manager is primarily responsible for initiating disciplinary action and grievance handling and absence mangement etc. However, it can seek ER's help and guidance in handling these issues or escalate it to ER specilaist, if things go beyond his jurisdictionand control. For example, there is anaprehension of strike at his office or in his zone of control and in such a case, he can involve ER specialist in delaing with the situation.
