National and Festival Holidays Regularization
My name is Ajay Diwedi, and I'm working with a Private Limited company as an Office Manager based in Gurgaon, Haryana. (The employee strength is 5, and we follow a 6-day working week.) Our company deals in solar and renewable energy and is registered with the Haryana Shop and Establishment Act, CST/VAT, Service Tax, and Companies Act.
My question is regarding the regularization of National and Festival Holidays to avoid confusion among employees. Based on my previous experience, a company should provide 10 to 11 National and Festival Holidays in a calendar year (including 26 Jan, 15 Aug, and 2 Oct). If a holiday falls on a Sunday, we are required to provide a compensatory holiday on any working day. However, my company director has doubts regarding both the number of holidays and compensatory offs.
Seniors, please advise on the government guidelines regarding which rule we should follow. Your prompt replies and advice are highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Based on my experience, a company should provide a minimum of 10 National and Festival Holidays in a calendar year, which includes January 26, August 15, and October 2. Our company also provides 10 National and Festival Holidays.
Thank you.
