Transaction is a unit of social interaction when two meet & one of them will speak which is a transactional stimulus & other who will reply will ba transactional respond.
Transactional analysis is a method of examining this one transaction wherein I do something to you & you do something back.It involves determining which part of the multiple-natured individual is being activated.[/i]

Hi Bhawana,
u have nicely and in simple terms stated about T.A. I have learnt about T.A. while i was undergoing training at HAL at Bangalore and the faculty was Dr. Gopal Valecha /Prof. at IIM Bangalore. When u pracctice such a technique ur mind and body also get tuned to it. It is technique in "human behaviour". "behaviour"? what causes "behaviour"? There is "stimulus" and there is "response" to this stimulus. But when u always become TA man the dark side of this technique is that u become mechanical and in all probability u lose ur naturalness which is very dangerous for future learning. This is my experience and these words were also then told by Prof. Gopal Valecha, who did his Ph.D in Organisational Behaviour from USA. If someone still wants u experience what i have said may try and revert back to me on this site about his experience of practicing TA.
Regards
Yours Sincerely,
