Dear Mr. Logesh3339,

In small business the process is handled of its own human resources needs, as you may not be aware of the issues that you'll face (entire system) which will make you less menacing.

While you started a career already towards HR the journey to move forward and learn more becomes de rigueur to explore. Attend few interveiws and find the necessary skills the company looks at an HR as a whole. You'll determine that Human Resources is vast; therefore choose some online programs or sourced webites for understnading the functions of HR in all prospects.

- Your company may not have department as a whole, since you specified it a small organization so a designated person (you) may not be able to do all the work per se. You may want to check with the person who handles the statutories and learn the basics to ensure the process.

Meanwhile, for enhancing you career in this line of business - Start searching for a job that classifies "What you learnt should be implemented" as a HR. On the contrary; your 2 yrs of experience is reliable to get you a job enough on your searches. Your search should expand not only for the posted jobs by companies but also send your resume and cover letter to companies not advertising an open position as you may hunch upon an opportunity that may be available to you in near future.

Regarding your salary - You may wonder that after a long years of stay "I'm still caught at the same pay". My suggestion would be -- don't get perplexed as you yourself mentioned it a small org & what else. Talk to your senior manager and make sure you tell them that you can do far better by all means and put your view on the table. Be polite, well-mannered & curteous - every employer is circumspectly watchful. Breathe and mould situation accordingly.

Good Luck!!

Well Lokesh, what I found in your query is that you have done your MBA -HR which is totally different than you’re BE that automatically says how much you are distracted in your career first.

Second, you forget to say anything about your present job/work profile except that you have two years of experience you said, which is important with respect to your present situation or to say further concerning your query by us.

Although, it is a small firm, let me presume, you are working with HR and have not assigned much work of HR and the truth you also knows that you are not much experienced. And also let me correct you with something that loyalty cannot only be the one that made Boss/Seniors to get you or any employee promoted with hike in salary or position.

To be loyal with work and employer and to ourselves is our moral duty and due respect to profession and career life, everyone must be loyal and ethical with work, employer, life and to self. There are many parameters i.e. a good work profile, understanding, and knowledge and experience that really matter and if you are expecting that you deserve a good hike in salary with your present (two years) experience, you can speak to your Boss but first to yourself. Do not answer to anybody but to yourself first.

In a general, there is no one who never expect higher salary, even the freshers want a good salary but, what you have attained in these two years of working and have played a role that can allow your Bosses to grant you a good hike in salary, can answer you directly on your query/question if you think about it.

We all work and feel that we are more efficient, hardworking, dedicated than other and playing an important role but still cannot deny the truth what we actually are doing and giving inputs.

I second, Ms Sharmila suggest you, please do not look for hike salary at this stage of your career but need to learn as much as you can. You need to enhance your knowledge, understanding about your work and have to be dedicated and sincere in this regard. Hardwork always pays but must not forget the thing that we have to do along with hardwork is how to show our work and hardwork to our seniors/Boss that make them feel to get us promoted with Salary and other.

Even i studied out of my own interest , no one guided me in that also, i love to work hard and prove my standard, but i dint get any good opportunities . in this office my work is restricted to a limit, so what ever i do my boss wont appreciate . even thats one of the reason to leave this company If you can help me to sort out this problem and get me out of confusion.
