Cylinder Labeling
OSHA requires that gas cylinders in workplaces have specific labeling that explains the type of gas in the cylinder. Employees can mark the cylinders with either the trade name of the gas or the chemical name of the gas. For example, workers could label a cylinder that contains oxygen as either "O2" or "oxygen gas." If possible, workers should put gas cylinder labels on the shoulders of the cylinders. They should also make sure to label them with strong enough stenciling or labels so that the label does not wear off easily.

Please look at the below additional information from the Rule 2004
Rule 9 (1) and (2) • Every cylinder shall be labeled with the name of the gas, name and address of the person by whom the cylinder was filled.
• Warning Instructions: Every gas cylinder to have mandatory warning cylinder pasted on every cylinder namely.
I. Do not change the colour of this cylinder
II. This cylinder should not be filled with any gas other than the one it now contains
III. No flammable material should be stored in the close vicinity of this cylinder or in the same room in which it is kept
IV. No oil or similar lubricant should be used on the valves or other fittings of this cylinder.
IV. Please look for the next date of test, which is marked on a metal ring inserted between the valve and the neck of the cylinder, and if this date is over, do not accept the cylinder for filling
