Did you sign any bond, contract or any other MOU before joining the company? Do you have copy of appointment letter?
All terms and clauses in bpo are predefined in appointment letter.
If there is no clause or letter which states about extra salary, on basis of individual bargaining skills, you can request the managers to give extra salary. All will depend on company policies and strategies.
Also asking without fear and with polished style and mannerism, company may give you another opportunity with better salary.
Do you not think that 15k to 6k is deep down in comparison. You can try in other better processes in other companies.
Many companies hide behind the recession and develop fantastic policies evenif they are not in crunch, in order to save expenses.
Even if you get continuation, you need to try in different companies for better prospects henceforth.

Verbal intimation won't do. They are to send such information in black and white.
