How should I approach companies looking for IT resources? From where should I collect data for those companies near Chandigarh?

The simplest and most effective way would be to go around town, meet company HRs, and ask them what skills they recruit people for and typically how many. No one on citehr would be able to give that info (else they would be making money using that info) and it will come on Google only when it would already be too late, and people would have milked it to the full. Fortune lies in the dust - to be found out and polished, not on Google to be "searched" ;)
