Dear Mr. Ashok,

The ESI authorities cover the industries under its Act. Every employee drawing less than Rs. 15000/- should get covered under the ACT. When an Accident takes place in the industry, the Management has to forward the Accident Report In Form No. 12 giving the time, date, place of accident, location of injury, quantum of injury etc.,. On receipt of the report, the authorities visit the industry for inspection and submit the report to the higher ups. Based on the Report, they fix up the compensation depending on the quantum of injury/nature of injury = loss of earning capacity. Such employees get the benefits (pension) till their death.

In case your industry is not covered under the ACt, as a Management you have to bear all the cost of the medical expenses, payment for the absent period and also the amount fixed by the compensation commissioner, in case the concerned raised the dispute before the labour authorities. The Workmen Compesnsation Act, defined and fixed the nature of injury and quantum of compensation.

Hope this has clearned your doubt.

If your factory is coverd in ESI then Don't bother about of WC policy .As I told previously that WC policy is an additional coverage to the workers . As per ESI Act ESI facility is mandatory for your Factory . & If Mgmt wish to cover your workers then they can take WC policy .
Has Mgmt made any provision to employees those who are getting sal more than 15K ?

Many companies opt for the Group Insurance, for that you will have to contact your or any Insurance Agent...(like SBI (SBI Life Goup Employee Benefits) Bajaj, ICICI, ........)
If you go through the CITE there are many, who's given their references under the discussions heading employee group insurance.....
