Emotions are contagious your emotional state would have a significant impact/influence on your associates so when you’re cheerful make an effort to spend more time with your direct reports and multiply the positive emotions.

Take the lead to develop a relationship; you’re the one who should be leading from the front. Reach out to the team engage them in discussions and provide positive feedback.

You need to have a constant connection with your team members. Even though you might have 100s of emails that call for your undivided attention, phone calls, meetings that you need to attend millions of other things that you need to complete you must not get disengaged from your people. Have an informal interaction on the floor/workplace would inject energy which would multiply and the team would do more just because they don’t want to let you down.
