The world is full of such people and you got to trust and back yourself first. Of course, there are laws to protect you.
Make your displeasure very clear to him. Don't say it in so many words but make it very clear to him that you are not going to take this and will not shy away from escalating the matter even if it means going to the cops or making a formal harassment complaint.
His weapon is your fear. Till the time you are afraid of creating a scene or losing your job or his talking bullsh** or people talking bad about you - he will keep preying on you, keep getting bolder and things may even go very bad.
He needs to know that you are not afraid of escalating the issue. He too has a lot at stake - his career, his family life, his reputation - heck, he can even be jailed. Make him afraid. Don't say that but communicate this message loud and clear and if needed, even say it.
Best wishes.
Stay brave and stay safe.

The approach mentioned by Bodhi Sutra, in the light of proceedings thats been established now, is apt.
Please voice your concern. Since the prevention programs have been sensitised well these day, there's a fat chance that you will get your justice.
Wish you all the best !

Hello Bodhisutra,
Even though this thread is an year-old, I guess the issues are still CURRENT....and for all we know, they will be for at least sometime to come.
I recollect a movie dialogue that summarizes the approach you mentioned to handle such situations: Never Hit back...but Never convey that you won't OR can't hit back. The other person will hesitate to go further IN THE FEAR of you hitting back.
The key would be the EXTERNAL Body-language [even though one may be screaming with fear inside].
I have seen this working perfectly in many situations, though it can't be a panacea for guys such as those involved in the Dec, 2012 Nirbhaya case.

Hi, Pooja this kind of notorious acitivity is just not tollerable at all in any perspect. I hope you are aware about vishakha act( protection of women from sextual harrasment in work place), Above all we are belong from 21st century and we all know the usage of smart phone , gadgets ,so use these devices against him tactfully. with cool brain just expose him in front of his family & friends. Else if you want a permanent relief then you will have to submit his real colour of face at police station. Be happy & smile.

Its better to change your job ASAP. Because you have already mentioned that there is no other person to complaint. So its better to go away from this type of womeniser. I think now its not a problem to get a job for a talented person like you... Go ahead...

Hi Pooja,
Well as per the new sexual harassment act of 2013, you can take your complaint to the internal complaints committee, who would then take action against this person. It doesnt matte that he is close to the director. You have every right to go ahead and report this. Please ensure that the complaint is within 3 months of the last incident that has taken place.
I found this good website called asklabourproblem.info maybe the information there might help you about going about the whole process.
