New rule of ml & child care policy
Hi frnds today i have read in toi & also heard in ndtv regarding the new rule on maternity leave and child care policy. as per the rule ml has been increased from 3 months to 6 months. and as per the child care policy any women can take 2 years paid leave to take care of her child anytime till the child comes to the age of 18. my doubt is that whether this rule is applicable only to the government women employee or it would also be applicable to the women working in the private sector. please do let me know about this incase any of you have any updates on the same. thanks & regards chitra
Noc restrictions for us visa for psu employee
My wife who is a psu employee is currently on maternity leave and also has 60 days of earned leave balance. since i need to move to us for couple of years i intend to take my family also along with me in august 2017. the plane for my wife was to club the current leaves and then go on 'leavewithoutpay' / child care leave. but it appears that she is not allowed to get a noc until she exhausts her maternity leave and all earned leave. she was told that once she exhausts all her maternity leave and earned leave she then can apply for child care leave as well as noc. this makes no sense to me. does it mean that psu employee does not get to travel abroad when they have paid leave balance. any light on the rules/terms/conditions will be really helpful.
Govt clarifies on child care leave for central staff
Govt clarifies on child care leave for central staff a new benefit of aggregate two years of paid leave that central government s women employees may avail to take care of their minor children will be limited to only the first two children and not for the third or fourth child the government clarified through a notification. in addition to the maternity leave that was raised from 135 to 180 days on the recommendations of the central pay commission the women employees are now entitled for 'child care leave' for a maximum period of two years that is 730 days during their entire tenure to attend to the needs of two children below the age of 18 years during examination or illness. this new paid leave can be availed of in more than one spell but limited to a maximum of 730 days. the notification says the 'child care leave' may also be allowed for the third year "as leave not due without production of medical certificate" and may be combined with "leave of the kind due and admissible". the provisions have been made by amending the central civil services leave rules 1972 which provides for maintaining the leave account in the service book of the woman employee. "leave of the kind due and admissible including commuted leave for a period not exceeding 60 days and leave not due that can be granted in continuation with maternity leave provided in rule 434b shall be increased to two years" says the amendment. it makes it clear that the 'child care leave' shall not be admissible if the child is 18 years or older.
