Dear SSM,
You have raised an interesting topic.
The Sulphuric acid tanks with concentration more than 75% upto 90% can be stored in carbon steel tanks without any lining.
Although we use very small quantities of this acid we use Plastic cans for storage with dike wall containment, this matter was discussed in our company.
Please note that in case there is a leak, and if the acid absorbs the water in the air there by dilutes, becomes more corrosive and more dangerous.
