Hi

Dear seniors

Can any one help me out in regard how to prepare a resume with one year experience in HR domain. Actually i have a problem, i have done my MBA(Finance&HR) in 2011 and i have done my academic project on finance topic, due to project unavailability and lack of companies in our surrounding places. But my personnel interest is on HR and due lack of projects and lack of time in project submission one of my faculty forced me to do the finance project at-last i have completed it and submitted.

Here my problem started after my education i have applied for hr jobs.I lost so many interviews due to my project in finance. Recruiters are not convinced with my answers. Finally i have been selected for a newly started company.I was working with this company for the past 7months.From the starting of my job they are not paying the salary in time and not even giving the work related HR executive. To be frank i didn't received my September, October months salary. Basically my family financial position is not good so we are purely depended on my salary.I have done my complete education on scholarships and donations. So finally i have decided to change my job.

Please help me out and give me solution to my quarry after reading this

My question: Is the academic project necessary in experienced resume and what are the things that needed to be mentioned in resume and any tips

Hi

Lack of focus, distraction and mistakes that you have done while at your education that your query and history are saying are your main problem and you are now well aware of them.

First, I would like to know about your work responsibilities and task that you are performing there.

About your resume, see the very first thing is that the resume is a brief document that highlights an individual's experience, qualifications, and skills. Qualification and other details you have explained here with a request to help in making a resume but the main contents that you supposed to share is not enclosed i.e. work responsibilities.

A good resume contains basic information about the applicant, organized in a way that is easy for the reader to comprehend. Clear contact information is usually at the top, followed by all work experience, educational achievements, a list of skills, relevant certifications or awards, and contact information for references, though not necessarily in this order. The organization of a resume is a fine art, and it requires some work to create a strong one.

Now, your query and problems that you have experienced are clearly saying how much you are distracted. You now know why recruiters are not showing interest in your RESUME and what are the problems that causing you this. Also you are not much experience and have just started your career so basically first you have to decide what actually you wanna do and what are your interest. You need to recognize in which you are good between HR and Finance. I buy that with some reasons you lost your control and made some mistakes but until you recognize your real interest and skills you will always be distracted.

For example : You have done with project reports on finance but never took this seriously because of your interest in HR, but you also have not worked with HR functions so, that make your situation worse and creating problems for you. Recruiters are not happy with your answers because of your lack of confidence and experience that comes with practical work and knowledge.

Therefore, few simple steps that I would like to suggest you to go ahead in your career from now.

Step 1- Realization & Recognition : you have to find out at what you are good and knowledgeable -Finance or HR

Step 2 - Focus on interest : if you found you have good knowledge with Finance than HR which is your interesting function you must pay attention to Finance that can give you more opportunities. You admit that you have not been provided much work and responsibilities of HR there with your first employer so that can seeks more focus/attention and work hard. You have to find one subject to go with and start working on it.

Step 3 - Work on Selection/decision : When you found one subject after consideration of your interest and knowledge and taking decision to go with, you have to start working. For Say example, you wanna go with HR, you have to learn as much as possible about the functions of HR and areas that define under this function.

You can start learning by this place as there are almost everything is available with study material that can help you but the most important that you have to keep in your mind is your hard work and learning skills and have to make it habit.

Step 4 - Learning from Experience : So far, as you said above, have gone through many interviews, so now sit and noted down the questions and your answers on a notebook that you have been asked by the recruiters. These questions asked by Recruiters can help you to understand their expectations and requirements that they are looking for an candidate/you.

For example : The question about EPF & ESIC deduction (if asked) have asked but you were not able to give answer of any, must have to learn and improve your knowledge about them.

Step 4 - You have to make a CV with the corrective and accurate details of your present education & skills and achievement, and apply jobs as a fresher or with 1 years experience and attend interview. Im sure this time you will be more knowledgeable and confident to attend your interviews, can get opportunities to have a job.

There are many company/recruiters who are hiring the freshers or candidates with 1-2 years of experience and im sure you cant get job soon. So dont loose hope and do your preparation sincerely

Best of Luck
