Hi friends
According to me there is difference between HR policy and manual. I think manual is prepared for employee. each employee will get copy of the same. HR policy is overall strategy of company which they will be adopting for HR. Manual can be a small part of policy.
I am right or wrong. Please clear my confusion

eg of policy: the cos cares for its employees..
next procedures for each process/ function needs to be made, due diligence exercised, legal obligations taken care of etc....
manual may be placed centrally eg a copy in account/ prod etc...
u dont need to give it to all.. yet all shud hv acccesss to it...

i feel HR policies are procedures, rules etc dat employees hav 2 follow which may vary a bit 4 diff bands of employees.
medical policy. travel allowance etc...
and HR MANUAL is set of all policies dat employees follow.
correct me if m wrong

HR policies are made on the basis of management decision in which employee have to adhere all rule and regulation.HR Policies include each and every concept of the orgainsation.
To provide such a vast concept to an employee it becomes quiet difficult to an organisation.Similarly for that Hr manual has been made.You can Say - HR Manual is a summary of HR POLICY

let m try guys....... in m opinion hr policies means wt the different concepts issues whtever u say it that an organisation follows...lik it includes ...recruitment...its process , various methods 4 recruitement lik goin 2 recruit frm institutes, employment exchanges, gate hiring n so on, selectin. induction, placement, training n devlopment, abt appraisal systems, n offcourse GRIEVANCE...etc

n HR MANUAL ....its smthin that explain all above in sm type of written form......... smtim calles SOP - standard operating procedures ...its also a manual bt specifically this term used in relation to store or inventory department...... manual may differnt 4 each department and explain that wt is to be done n how is to b done, n the standard process of doin things.....lik already wrote above in relation 2 recruitment...................

e.g....... anti sexual harrassment... its a policy

n a statement writen in a may b in a booklet form which explain wt comes under the preview of sexual harrassment, the reporting system of such activity in organisation, wt type of steps can be taken by top management n hr department against a culprit...... in written form --its called hr manual....
