Hi Sir(s)
I have doubt about implementation of labour laws. A Contractor registered under Contract Labour (R&A) Act and Building & other construction workers Act, Inter State Migrant Act, is requried to maintain various registers as prescribed under the act. My query is : whether the contractor is required to maintain separate registeres under each act or maintain a single common register for some of the items which are common under various act. Please clarify.Regards A Radhakrishna

Dear Radhakrishna
Please check the forms in the Various Rules. Note down the numbers and prepare a rubber stamp in the following manner
Form XIII - CL (R&A) Rules (Refer Rule _______)
Form ____ - BOCW Rules (Refer Rule _______)
Form _____ - ISMW Rules (Refer Rule ________)
(Fill the appropriate numbers in the _____ place.)
Affix the rubber stamp on the top of every page of Register of Workmen you are maintaining. Same way you can make the Rubber Stamp and affix on the Attendance Register/Muster Roll, OT Register, Wages Sheet (in Wages Sheet you must mention the Minimum Wages Act Form No and Rule No also). If the inspector asks for the same you can show this. I am following the same for my site.

Thanks Bhaskar ji. What I understand is that we can make stamps for various registers under relevant rules and affix the same on the pages whch shows that the register under reference is maintained under difference acts as such. Will this be accpetable to the Labour Enforcement Officers as the LEOs are different for varoius acts. Need further light. Warm regards
