Dear Friends :
I have prepared a draft version of the Domestic allowance structure for employees travelling to other cities within India.
It would be great if I get your inputs on the structure in terms of the allowance payable and if we can make any inclusions/exclusion.
I especially request the C&B experts to review and share your thoughts.
Best wishes,

Dear Gia,

Why you are making it so complicated? Don't divide it in Min or Max. Fix up an amount for Lodging as per class of city and fooding allowances as per city.

Also make some additions in your slab chart:

1. In case if employees wants to stay at their own arrangement (with some relatives or friends), they can claim a fix amount towards their stay, fooding and misc. expenses. like Rs. 1000/- per day for A Class City, Rs. 750 /- B Class City and Rs. 500/- C Class City.

2. Fix up travel mode also. Viz., Trainees: Bus / Auto / Train SL, Engineers: III AC or CC, Managers: II AC/ I AC or Flight etc. and also the local travel mode in city.

3. Fix up some other pocket allowances for which Bills are not required like Rs 100/- per day subject to limit of Rs. 500/- per trip for News Paper, Portage etc.

4. Fix up DA certain amount for each tour which is equal or less than 24 Hrs which includes Food & Misc. expenses.

In this way you may have a good control over your employees.

Thank you Shailesh for your inputs. Oh the Min/Median/Max is just the slabs. The final allowance would be any one... we may position ourselves at Min or Median or Max. In fact this is at a proposal stage and I need to present it to my management and will get a signoff on the final allowance.
Any additional inputs for a better representation of the data to Management is most welcome. Infact I shall obliged if I receive your feedback.
