Hello,

Depending upon the way the interview is proceeding and is being structured by the interviewer, one will have to decide, but as a general rule one need not VOLUNTEER personal information like the one you are basing your question on. All personal information that will help you justify your suitability to the job, should of course be presented, tactfully-if it is not getting covered in the interview!

But you must not fight shy in handling questions such as these you are concerned about. Just share such information, if asked for but do it taking cared to avoid generating any perceptions that you may be attempting to get mileage out of such very personal information!

I trust you have the answer now. If you wish to raise more questions, kindly do not hesitate since interviews being a critical phase in the recruitment process, it must be handled truthfully but also tactfully!

Regards

No compulsion to answer any of the personal queries unless it's an important round and expressly asked for the answer (usually no one would stress on such questions)..... be specific and diplomatic during the interview process........

Its based on Interview structure and you should analyze how the interview going on. if you feel its going across the limits yes you can share your personal with HR. HR\'s never share these thigns with anyone. It\'s their best quality.

Why are you feeling like this? Have you experienced anything while your interview in past days that made you feels like this? Well in the answer of “Tell me about yourself and about your family” sometime recruiters wants to check family background of candidate to judge the personality and education background and the related things but it doesn’t mean that you can’t share this or it is also not mandatory to share.
I agree with Mr. Samvedan and Mr BSSV. There is no need to share the same yourself until asked specifically about your family members or any personal details. Moreover, if you ever face this situation or would have to answer, reply without hesitation.
