First, Break all the rules.. book has quite a few pointers that talks about the team managing. This can give you good lead.
Maslow’s theory can be displayed. Leads should know the style of their team members and based on the motivator aspect Leader should adopt the style. For example, if the team member is young it will be the work challenge which would motivate, if it’s an experience person that it could be recognition, work life balance can motivate. You can do the role plays by giving the situation to participants.
For employees the motivating factor would be that a Manager understands their emotional and professional need. Be a listener and advisor when they are in need.
