I'm working as a Project Trainee in a software company in Hyderabad.
I'm being paid a consultancy fee for the period of 6 months training.
They are deducting 11.33% tax from my stipend in the form of Tax Deducted at Source(TDS).
I want to know whether TDS is applicable for my stipend?

If you are paid in the name of Consultancy fees it invites TDS @ 10.3% and not 11.33% as mentioned. But if you are paid in the name of stipend TDS should not be deducted.
