Hi,
Thanx for your reply. I have been asked to design transfer policy for production department.
I want to know:-
1. After how much duration should one man be transferred?
2. Who (posts) should be transferred?
3. Whether family shifting should be mandatory?
4.If yes, then how much time should be given?
5. If not then who should be exempted and by whom?
6. What should be the objective of transfer? I mean what company wants to achieve from transfers? Advantages.
7. What care should be taken during making such transfer decisions? Possible mistakes and it\'s consequences so that company does not commit mistake and suffer for it.
Thanx

Hi Preeti
You have raised lot of query/doubts as far as transfer of employees is concerned. Just trying to clarify point wise as under:-
1. Transfer is a tool in the hands of management and anybody can be transfer at any time. No duration is required.
2. Irrespective of position/posts jobs of all the employees are liable for transfer.
3. Family shifting cann't be a precondition for any transfer. But yes same can be in case of new appointment.
4. Objective/advantage of transfer from management perspective may be different i.e. To get desired result from day one by transferring existing employee to new locations. To avert IR problem by transferring the unionist etc.
5. While issuing transfer letter, one has to ensure it should be signed by appointing authority and any other authority senior to appointing authority and not by juniors.
I hope things would be clear to you.
