Dear all,

I am a graduate (B.B.A) with a regular degree from IP University. I am a fresher. I want to get a job, but I am so confused about starting my career in HR or Marketing. What I have studied about marketing is quite different in practice as marketing is often associated with sales, whereas HR at the entry level involves more consultancy work. I have an interest in both marketing and sales. Can you please advise me on which path to choose, HR or Marketing? My resume is also attached. I am feeling very confused and would appreciate your guidance.

Thank you,
Saifi

Dear Saifi,

Marketing and HR require different kinds of skill sets. If you feel that you have the skills to sell a product or service, in the long run, it will provide you with a good career and income.

Similarly, HR has emerged as a valued career option that requires a different kind of skill set. Therefore, no one can answer your question except for you.

Choose what is best for you and stick to it.

Dear Saifi,

Please go to Marketing because good and quick growth is based on your performance. It is very important that you can prove your skills through tasks.

I do not want HR. HR is a high-risk job in India and is always a handkerchief to Management. If there are any problems or issues from management, HR should handle them. If there are any problems or conflicts with management, they will be resolved by HR. HR acts as a handkerchief to Management.

Please go to Marketing.

Best regards,
Shan
