From what I understand trans actional analysis will be a tool to make your communication effective and stregthen your interpersonal relations. It will help you understand others responses in their correct perspective and frame mature responses to them so that the interpersonal relations will be smooth and strife free.Experts can chip in withtheir contributions

Dear Raj Bharat,

Sunita Meena has given an excellent brief explanation. Let me ask a few questions before answering your query. What do you do and where (wwhich type of industry) and why have you raised this question. Have you read the book "I am OK, you are OK" by Eric Berne on this topic?

For a brief explanation of his theory on "I am OK, you are OK", etc., please see http://www.carolsolomonphd.com/web_pdfs/Transact.pdf After digesting that, kindly tell us how you can apply that in your own life. I had come across that concept in 1970s as management student. In my work experience, it was never used at work. My colleagues used to teach that for MBA students but it was not applied in the university that I worked.

Kindly also see transactional analysis, eric berne, theory examples, articles, diagrams, parent adult child TA model and watch transactional analysis in action - YouTube

DEAR NASHBRAMHALL,
I am a student who is training at national institute of construction and management which is in goa..this was taught to us recently,i felt this theory is a wonderful invention which is going to change the entire process of communication. I myself tried communicating with many people from this angle which was taught as a basic key. The link's which you have given below can clarify some of my questions regarding this T.A.
I thank you very much for giving a kind response and guiding me.
REGARDS,
RAJ

Dear Raj,
Thank you for the classification. One way to understand about TA is to do some analysis of exchanges at CiteHR. For example, see https://www.citehr.com/301192-my-mba-project.html and analyse how people react to suggestions. I know of threads where there have been heated debates due to people taking positions such as "I am OK, you are not OK".

Dear Raj
I have read Eric Berne's "I am O.K and your O.K". Iam of the opinion that the concept has practical utility in many situations though I cannot vouch that you get the desired result in every situation, given human mind as what it is and it's ability to manipulate. But it is worth practicing. Compliment you to show an interest to learn about human relations.

Dear Raj
Nash has given an excellent idea on T.A. I do hope that by now you must have digested "I M OK, U R OK", The next step in understanding these states better is a wonderful book by Dr. Eric Berne, "Games People Play". From your reply to Nash, i think you have touched this concept at a basic level, and i believe a detailed understanding will help you bring a change around you.

Tarun

dear All,
I would like to add that anyone who is interested in TA must read the following two books.
1. I am OK You are OK by Dr Thomas Harris (Not Dr Eric Berne)
2. Born to Win by Muriel James and Dorothy Jongevard
3. Games People Play By Dr Eric Berne.
These are the bibles as far as TA is concerned.

Rangdham Yes. You are right . It is by Thomas Harris. There is confusion since the books were read twenty five years ago. Thanks for correcting. B.Saikumar HR & Labour Law Advsior Mumbai
