and wanna know some appropriate answer which is asked by recruiter :
1. how much salary you are expecting ????
2. we can not give this much amount to a fresher !!!! can you work if we would not give you remuneration for three month after that on performance base we ll give you salary ?????
3. we ll put you on training period for three month so we can not give you. this much amount ????
i was expecting only 10k to 15k as start up of my career !!!!!
is my expectation is wrong ?????
i have done MBA with HR & IR and for a HR starter is this amount very high ????
is it right that a fresher should be start form recruitment ?????

Bro am on the same boat ....so might be of some help to you..
Like what you were saying, in kolkata also 10-12k is maximum salary a fresher can get off campus in HR.
I got my final result on July, after that was trying in all Manufacturing plant, after 1-n half month i got one opening in Plant, ctc is 19,375 month...but most of my frnds are getting 10-11k, becoz thats the real wage for a fresher. So dont be demoralised, u enter one company, and keep searching, if u get 15k in hand type job , then just shift.but try to add each n every day in your CV.
Now what you can do , is check what actually the current scenario of freshers in HR in indian perspective, in PAYCHECK . ie in naukri.com
you will find 85% are below 180000ctc..means most of the students are getting below 15k as freshers..so cheerup, its all same for all of us...

Enroll in naukri , monster ...just the highlighter service, and nothing else. both will cost 1200. for 3 months service, its good.
2. Look for few regional consultants in your region, actually most of the plants are visited by these consultant VP or MDs and they take the outsourcing responsibility from the factory manager, by lowest possible quote process, and as a result many job openings in plant are not known to people like us, and those who are enrolled with them get lucky. eg- Genius, Matrinet, Nicco ventures, etc..
3. Regarding question :-
Me too of ur's level of intellect, my answers wud also be amateur like yours, better we shud wait for some seniors to answer..
What i can do . is am attaching few HR contacts [nearly 1000 contacts], which i gathered from CTHR only, send all of them yours CVs.. Resend once every day, let them get irritated , and they will respond..

Hello,

If you are looking for entry level job in HR, it could mean that either you are an absolute fresher to the world of work or you are a fresher only to the HR field! Answer to could simplify a response!

It is right for an employer to ask for your expectation and strategically it is wrong for a fresher to name an amount! The answer could be that one would be willing to accept the going rate for a fresher in the region/industry/the company and unless it too low one would be happy to be selected. The reason for taking such a stand is that a fresher has no track record of "achievements" which may justify an "expectation" for a particular range!

There is no question of working free. The employer is only testing your desperation level for employment, Even if your response is affirmative, the employer, in all probability, may not make an offer as decent employer would expect anyone to work for free!

Accepting an offer to be taken up for training can be considered only after one knows the details like, the stipend, duration, what after training, existence of a regular in house training programme etc. I feel that freshers should not deny an opportunity out of hands as such training could at least expose you the reality and the world of work!

Try and avoid starting as "Recruiter".

A job in the manufacturing is recommended. It gives you exposure to all aspects of the function and offer good opportunities self development. But that also depends on the kind of people you get to work with, and that is NOT in your hands!

Your expectation is not wrong or unreasonable. Your strategy is! For a career in IR, manufacturing industry is the best and perhaps the only domain! One always has to start at the bottom of the ladder. No one starts on the top, except, even in the ownership controlled management. Unless one acquires necessary skills of the function, he cannot professionally grow. One always has to learn, achieve, add value and only then grow and that is true for every function!

I trust now you have all answers you were looking for!

Regards

Dear Pawan,
Scenario has changed now a days companies only hiring skilled employees, hire an unskilled & give them raining
enhance the cost of company, better to start in HR start with recruitment & then after some years with more skills
you can switch with IR dept., dont waste time for IR every year we have more younger student with fresh ideas.
you can direct join IR without relevant Exp. if you belong to Top B school. (IIMs).
All the very best.

Dear Pavan,
I think that as an fresher you should not have expectation, your first expectation should be learning. There is no employer who will not give you anything, he is just checking you. As far as recruitment is concern, this will be first step of learning for you. Same I have faced this problem but after getting experience, I am getting good result. so dont be worry. for more information you can contact me...

Hi Pawan, I can see that your original message was posted in AUg 2012, that is almost 1 1/2 years back. Can we have the updates now? We know the struggle u went through; the obvious question comes to mind is, what happened next? One would certainly like to know where you stand now, the actions you took, where you landed etc.
P.S. I have also gone through the exact same grind so I can empathise fully.
