We advice our contractors to obtain own 'PF code for their establishment/Firm' as they are deploying daily manpower more than 50 nos. The EPFO authority refuse to allot PF code to contractors and advice them to do compliance under the code of PE under copy to us.
Can you help us in this regard 'OR' advice us how contractor can get PF code for their firm/establishment? Whereas, earlier EPFO allotting PF code to contractor.

Dear Sir
No one can refused without reason some reason available in your concern,
please study the matter again as per epf act and ask why not separate code may be allotted to contractor
may be in future the contractor employed his manpower in other Establishment also
than how he make the compliance
so please study the matter again and write here

Rightly said by mr. ashok
advice to ur contractors just they will show one muster roll of all the employee to EPF authority.
I think they are submitted only one register which is maintain at ur factory/ establishment.But EPF authority need all manpower details who is work under single contractor like :-
contractor manpower of ur establishment = 50
other site posted = 20
Total = 70
they will show details register of total 70 employees.

Dear Lahor,
This is inform you that first you need to apply for firm registration of your establishment,after that you have to register under shops and establishment act for 50 members then it is easy to take PF code.

Documents for contractors to obtain pf code
1. Shops establishment reg.or reg.of the firm
2. Pan No
3. Bank Account detail
4. Form 5 issued by principle employer
5. Address proof
7. Salary sheet
8. D/D
perhaps contractor is not providing these documents in support of the application that's why pf authorities denying the same pls confirm with your contractor

Dear PC,
As per the act it is ultimately the principal employer's liability to comply by the EPF act if any or all contractors fail to comply.
Firstly I advise you to see if all ur contractors have taken labour licence for engaging workmen. If they haven't then see if you could get a form 5 under Contract Labour Act to them.
Secondly, having taken the labour licence instruct them to apply for pf code if they don't have any!
If ur contactors have less than 20 heads of total manpower including all their staff then you must proceed to make their compliance in your code and debit their bills accordingly.
