Esi - is it necessary to supervise the contributions to esi by contractors?
The corporates are compulsorily made to deduct esi from the employees who are drawing less than rs.15000/ per month. corporates also pay their contributions. some corporates also reimburse medical expenses apart from esi contribution. according to esi act a company which is paying payment for contract like security and other labour hire charges has to ensure for the contribution of esi by their contactors. so according to me when a corporate is paying medical reimbursements is it neccessary to contribute esi ? moreover is it necessary to supervise the contributions to esi by contractors? why should not we make a choice by an employee for the contribution of esi by employees and employers when a medical reimbursement is available?

Hi all hope doing good i have few queries regarding employer pf &esi contributions of contract labour > i have contractor for providing contract manpower to run our plant. for which we are paying him 10 service charges do we need to reimburse him employer pf and esi contributions which he has paid to respective authorities? or he should manage these contributions within the 10 service charge? > is there any provision in contract labour act that principal employer should bare employer pf & esi contributions of contract labour? > till date contractor is paying the contributions and reimbursing the same by adding in monthly invoices by providing challan proofs now my management is claiming that in contract labour act under section 41: recovery of contribution from immediate employer says "a principal employer who has paid contribution in respect of an employee employed by or through an immediate employer shall be entitled to recover the amount of the contribution so paid that is to say the employers contribution as well as employees contribution if any from the immediate employer either by deduction from any amount payable to him by the principal employer under any contract or as a debt payable by the immediate employer" please clarify on this thanks & regards satish kumar k

Dear all i have a query regarding esi: currently the esi contribution is deducted on upto rs.10000/ wages. there is provision in the esi act that the if an employee is drawing wages less than 10000/ at the beginning of his contribution period his contributions are payable for whole period of contribution period of six months even if in between his wages go above rs. 10000/ my question is if the wage is increased beyond 10000/ then on what amount the esi will be contributed. is it on the a old wages b on 10000/ or on c the increased total increased wages. pls help. regards amit

Dear all would like to confirm about esi contribution & payment that if an employee who is eligible for esi and working since a year and now resigns then shall we deduct the esi contribution in his f&f?
