I am looking for a change so sometime back i have attended a interview. First thing HR person called everyone at 2:30. so everyone has to wait there for atleast 2 hrs. i waited their for 3 and half hours. than only a formality happened and HR told me that She is winding everything up because of closing time of the company that why she is making it fast.
Can any one please suggest me what should i do at this point of time.
I need job so i waited for a long time. I respect for others time but wasn't she supposed to respect my time.
Please tell me if any thing is wrong in this place.

The HR can plan interviews as under--

1) It should ensure that the HR is absolutely free from other enagemments like union meetings or interdepartmental meetings aor any other small functions on the date of interview.

2) Therafter, on the day prior to interview, the HR shall prepare dossiers like CVs and other relevant material in respect of each candiadte, shortlisted for interview.

3)On the day prior to interview, it shall remind the memebers of the inter view panel about the interviews the next day.

4) if the candiadtes called for interview are considerable in number say 10 or more, the HR shall fix a separate time for interview for each candidate, having ragard to the probable time to be taken for interviewing each candiadte and the time for pre-interview formalities like collecting CVs from the candiadtes, instead of calling all candiadates at the same time.

5)Depending up on the time for interview and if possible, the company can provide tea, if possible and greet them to make the candiadtes feel at home.

Hello Deepika,
Recruitment is the major part of Human Resource. Well, HR's also value time... there are some cases which prevails that the HR would have scheduled candidates and alas got stuck wedged in some other work. However, at a point HR's do a pre-screening process to aviod these end time lapses. Time Management is required for increased productivity, tasks which can be done faster & better and use time competently by organizing calender.
Besides, I should say if one requires a job, work out an appropriate time with the HR or the interviewer, which definitely saves time.

Best thing an HR can do is to give a specific time for each candidates. It can help the candidates to adjust accordingly. Some may feel that it is not at all possible to give separate timing , but this procedure is done in most of the developed countries and even it is very much popular in gulf countries.

Dear Deepika,
Go with your heart on this one.
Unless the person was really apologetic for making you wait for 3.5 hours, then go with your instinct.
I could probably give you a whole raft of options here, but from the sound of it, you really need a job (or maybe that particular job)
But, like I said, go with your heart on this one. You know the answer to the questions you asked. Just believe those answers - because for you, they are correct!
Personally, I don't believe anyone can be that busy that they cannot step out for a quick 5 seconds and inform those waiting to return at another date. Its the only decent and polite thing to do. Why? Because it shows that the person cares and respects others and their time!
Good luck Deepika! Just Believe in Yourself!
