Dear Shwethaji,
Please note New Employees Pension scheme is introduced in 1995. Those who put more than 10 years service after 1995 cannot withdraw the amount. They have to opt for Scheme Certificate only. After attaining 58 years of age they have to submit Scheme certificate and apply for pension. Employee will get pension for entire life period. After his death his family members also get pension as per nomination given.
You can download Employees Pension Scheme from EPFO Website for reference.

All the contribution made to the pension fund goes to the corpus. Nothing is lost. The pension one gets does not depend on the contribution one made to the fund. It depends upon the length of qualifying service (the more service you put in the more pension you get) and the average emoluments (the greater the emoluments more the pension).

Dear friends,
1. Regarding member, pension is life long. Regarding widow/widower, pension is either up to death or remarriage; which take place earlier. Regarding children, in normal case upto 25 years. In case of permanent disabled and mentally retarded children, pension is life long.
2. Those complete 9 years and six months will have no options other than availing pension. If the service is less than 9 years and six months and not below six months, one time withdrawal benefit in accordance with Table D and average salary of last twelve month on which pension being contributed will be paid.
