Greetings All,
I have around 16 years of work experience in brand and channel management in automotive Industry and am looking for a change. Since Auto Sector is going slow on hiring, is it a right move to change the category at a middle/senior level position? which other catgories can consider an Auto professional favorably?

Dear Brandbird
No doubt Automotive Industry set record in 2009-10 in India, but these days, downfall is seen in this industry. Which is one of the reason for freezing in big brands, specifically dealing with commercial vehicles.
For growth prospects you can switch to related sectors in B2B industry, where you can utilize ans encash your skills and expertise.
Also for the reference, saw an opening for Head- MarCom at Tata Projects posted on 4th june on linkedin. The person has mentioned his id for correspondence. It is rishirajsingh AT THE RATE tataprojects DOT com
Please check if it suits you

The core skills and knowledge in the field of branding and channel management will be universally applicable pan different sectors and thus you need not have any hesitation,in my view, to look for greener pastures and therefore, open your wings and fly high in the sky of opportunities.
