I am working in Bank of Baroda but want to leave the bank through \\\"leave without pay\\\" method, means I will not join the bank for continuous 3 months and the bank will automatically terminate me from the job. In that case, I would be free from paying the bank a heavy amt on submitting resignation as I would be terminated from the bank side. I want to know that what would be the future aspects of job after termination? The reason I gave for absence is - \\\"family issues\\\". I am running a company but also want to keep my options open for job in future. Would it affect my career and if us then up to which extent?

I am really surprised at your post! This is the most unprofessional attitude to exit employment. This could affect your future in following way:

1.There would be termination order issued and the same would be even mentioned in your relieving letter.

2.Exit process would not be easy- settling your F and F will be an uphill task.

3.What are you going to do about future back ground checks ? No matter in which way you leave the company, all would be evident during background verification.

4.You are burning the bridges- there would be no positive references from this organization and no chances to join this company again. It's also possible that you would meet same peers / bosses again - the way in which you are leaving the company just think what kind of image would it create in minds of others about you and your way of working.

5.Lastly, terminated employees often face major diffculties in finding re-employment. I have seen terminated employees struggling to get absorbed in market.

You have mentioned that you are running a company. I would really like to know how you are going to treat or feel if an employee of your company does the same to you / your company?

Great- You can start consulting practice on resignations at zero cost. There may be wiser professionals in the Bank. The bank may not simply terminate you from job as you wish but may initiate disciplinary proceedings for the misconduct of unauthrised absence and for lack of devotion to duty for running a comapny and engaging yourself in a trade or business outside the scope of your duties and may dismiss you for the same, if found guilty in the enquiry which stigma may stick to you and spoil your career.
As Shalini rightly pointed out how you feel if one of your employees ditches you like that.
