Validity of clarification by epfo
Pls go throgh the attachment containing a clarification on considering minimum wages as base for pf contribution. i could not understand how such clarification can be given when both the epf & mp act and mw act are defining the basic wage and wage differently. in the light of the prevailing law how far such clarification can sustain?
Minimum wages clarification
Dear sir need your help on minimum wages in up minimum wages from apr12 are rs100 basic74.14dars174.14 per day. it becomes 4528/ per month. accordingly monthly basic 2600 1928 as da as per my understanding now if i fix 4550 per month for an unskilled worker and split it as 2900 basic 1650 as other allowances i.e.hra & conveyance. and take 2900 for pf calculation will it work.can we split minimum wages in basic & other allcs.if we split then only basic will be taken for pf calculation . plz advice on priority. regards ashok
Applicability of pf on min wages
Recently our consultant sent the minimum wages payable in a state and opined that the pf deduction should happen at the minimum wages priscribed for that state. clarification sought is : currently the basic salary of employees on this particular state is much less than the minimum wages however the monthly salary paid out is atleast 25 higher than the minimum wages break up is basic hra 40 of basic conveyance special allowance personal pay medical allowance 1250 per month is it necessary to raise the basic salary of all such employees to the min wages now which is around 5900 per month is there any mention in pf act or any amendment to suggest so an early reply is highly appreciated regards sreedharan
