Hi...
Though leaves can not be claimed as a matter of right..BUT..at the same time employees are entitled for CL and EL, it is upto the Leave Sanctioning Authority to grant leave as per the requirement of employee where it is taken care that the work does not suffer.
Generally,30 EL and 8 CL per annum needs to be granted apart from Medical Leaves.
If any clarification needed, plz reply.

As per labour laws a confirmed employee is eligible for 7 SL, 7 CL and 15 EL per year. Company can't ignore to pay these leaves to an employee as it is a statutory compliance. Apart from these leaves It is also a statutory to give 3 national holidays and 4 other festival holidays to an employee. Applicable acts are Factory act, Shop and Establishment act, National Holidays and Casual festival Act, Etc.
