Hi all, Can some one throw light on this topic?? Is there no one who knows the answer?? or question requires the reframing?? Rgds Mahesh
Hi Mahesh

In case of corporates, a letter head is a visible and official representation of an organization. Just as you have Mahesh as a name, which gives you a more ‘personal identity’ rather than being referred to by your PAN no. or you Aadhaar Card No., an organization uses a letter head to anchor itself in the eyes of the world at large.

Ideally, the letter head would have a standardized pattern across the organization, branch locations and remote sites to give it uniformity and legitimacy. It is the official and tangible proof of the company’s official communication by an authorized official.

In case of individuals the same logic holds true except that since the frequency of communication is relatively less for official communication in particular, few individual use pre printed stationary for letter heads. However in all official communication they would ensure that their name, address and contact detail is given, which forms the crux of a letter head.

I am unable to understand you angst and irritation about letter heads being used, which is evident from your follow up post but I hope I have managed to logically and convincingly clarify the matter.
