Hi Renny

You need to answer yourself to one question !

What is more important ? HR function or Industry ?

You need to evaluate the company you are joining in scope of your role, profile, duties and responsibilities and financial condition and market reputation of the company (brand) you are joining.

What is also important, that after doing research on above parameters, you need to ask youself if you can do justice and accomplish the tasks , duties and responsbilites expected from you. Also do these tasks , duties and responsbilites fulfil your interest and satisfaction at the job. Are you excited about it ?

Hospital (healthcare), IT, ITes, E&I (energy & infrastructure), Education, Manufacturing, Service, Private or Public all these becomes irrelevant. If you are dedicated to your profession, every chance is a sunshine opportunity by how much you make out of it.

Every infrastructural function in an organization are broader in scope and application. Every organization needs this elemental functions to run the show. HR & Admin, Finance, Production, Marketing. HR& Admin, Finance and Marketing are morever broadbased. Employee working under these functions are flexible to move from company to company and industry to industry. As their outlook towards the functional duty remains consistent in approach. Speaking of HR roles, any industry you join, HR roles will remain similar, its matter of learning new techniques, profiles, management.

Hello Renny,
Hussain Zulfikar is right.
At the stage of career that you are in [beginner], your PRIMARY focus/priority OUGHT to be to gather experience.
So, forget about thinking if the job is in a hospital or a movie theater or in a factory, etc., but look for the scope of learning. If you find it, then just go ahead & join.
And functions like HR, Finance/Accounts, etc have a BIG advantage that they will fit into any domain/environment--only the salary varies from domain to domain [for eg., IT companies have higher salaries--reason for the craze towards IT company positions--even though, functionally one ends-up doing 'similar' work].
All the Best.

Dear Tajsateesh
Thanks for your comments. and I totally agree with your crisp and effective response.
Which Hospital are you offered from ? If you wish to answer.
I m in the process of Joining a leading healthcare company in Kuwait as Recruitment Officer. I have refused a plum offer from Toyota / Lexus enterprise in favour of Healthcare company offer. However it was a tough decision based on research, interest and circumstances.
So its all upto you. Wish you all the best.
I read this quote by Shri Ratan Naval Tata - "I don't believe in taking right decisions. I take decisions and then make them right"

Dear Renny,
Other members have given excellent replies. Here are my two cents.
For HR, manufacturing or IT or Retail or Healthcare all are equal. It is up to us what value we can add so that our customer gets value for the purchase they make.
You should devote yourself to the work without having dichotomy in your mind. Once you do that, it will improve quality of your work. High quality of your work will give you accolades from your superiors or employees. This will motivate you further to deliver performance of still higher order and this will go on and on.

Dear Renny
I don't wish to demotivate you but, i am going to share my experience with you.
I had worked with DOCTORS and its very difficult to convince them for anything as they don't listen to others for being NOBLE PROFESSIONALS. I was next to the President in the hierarchy and powers. They only speak MONEY LANGUAGE and love to make money from each and every resources available.
Please do remember that, there is no PMS available for DOCTORS. For other staff, you can apply HR STRATEGIES.
I suggest you to accept this offer and gain experience. Later you will be in a position to decide about your future.
Good Luck.
With profound regards
