Hi all,
I am an hr executive working in a mumbai based firm.I want to use psychometric testing for recruitment and selection purpose.I have tried using MBTI but it is not giving me that good results, so can anyone suggest me a test which is purely meant for recruitment and selection purpose.

Hi Sujit,
You have tried the Myer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test.
You may wish to try the PF16 test or Thomas profiling tools like human job analysis, personal profile analysis (i.e. Thomas PPA) and team analysis. Alternatively, FIRO-B, OPQ, Picture test and Ink Blot test may also be useful for you.
But check their relevance for the class/type of people that you administer them individually on. A sample run or simulation on an experimentation group will be useful before final use.
There are heaps of vendor such as Thomas Profiling Co. and the works who can help in installing them and their test runs.

  • 1) Benchmark the job
    2) Have a consolidated list of required skills

The MBTI should not be used for employee selection so says the publisher of the MBTI. Never ignore a test publisher's admonitions and instructions.

Hi Sujit,
The best way out is to contact the individual vendor Co. and seek advice.
They will, hopefully, guide you through the test sampling and beta testing (if any) as also how to go about a test run.
They will guide you on the relevance of the tests for cross-section of employees, the administration, the results and results interpretation.
