What is motive behind subfix and Prefix leave Policy?
In my opinion it just mere intervention or confusion for employee. could you please share as an HR where it is beneficial and worth keeping this policy?

If the policy is permitting prefixing and suffixing holidays to leave, it allows the employee to enjoy longer leave without exhausting much of his leave and thus it is beneficial from the point of view. If the policy is prohibiting such suffixing and prefixing the leave with holidays, it means to discourage employees to be on longer periods of leave and to avoid many employees going on leave on at the same time for example, most employees may want to make use of Diwali Holidays by combining them with leave leading to large scale absenteeism of employees during a particular spell.

there is no harm in allowing prefixes and suffixes with leave as long as the employee reports in time the next working day.there is no point in trying to have an obsessive compulsive control of subordinates because that alienates the employee. However it should be made clear to the employee that he should be back on the next working day in time as trains are always late/cancelled and traffic jams are very common.Giving Sundays and holidays as prefix and suffix should not be made into a big deal.

as a general principal any ,weekly off or closed day, either falling before the commencement of leave or after the expiry of leave iperiod can be prefixed or suffixed. It does not affect the working of the establishment However one should specifically mention in his leave application that he intends to add as prefix and suffix. It is beneficial in the interest of employee as well as management.
