hi,
i've 3 employees, who have basic salary more than 6500/-rs. & they are 16000, 14000 & 8000 respectively. I deduct the employer share on their basic salary, now my question is that on what amount should I deduct the employee pension fund which has max. limit of 541/-rs.
Assume that if employee A has basic salary of 16000/- rs. & has attendance of 28 days in April month. so employer share deduct on 16000/30*28 = 14933/- rs. but for employee pension fund, on what amount should I deduct 8.33%.
On max limit 6500/- or 6500/30*28 = 6067 on this amount.
also help me, how can we put employee for the wage month april-2012 & how can provide new PF no.
respected seniors plz reply me soon with clarification
thanx & regards,

dear karunamotherson,
thanx for your reply but my concern is that if employee has attendance of 28 days in April month so on which amount amount we have to deduct eps and WHY?
1. on max. limit i.e. 6500/-rs (541)
OR
2. on 6500/30*28 = 6067/-rs (505)

If any employee earn more than 6500 basic so we would deduct the epf and eps on 6500.
as per ur example the employee earn for 28 days 14933 and that amount is more than 6500 rupees so the pf amt is 780 and employer contribution is 541 and 239 respectivly..........

mr. dheeraj,
as per my knowledge if any employee has basic salary more than the max. limit which is 6500/- rs.the employee deduction on the basic part whatever the amount is but yes there is 1 condition employee and employer are both agree on that part and in term of eps the max limit 6500/- that remain same in any scenario.
my question is that if employee has attendance of 28 days in April month so on which amount amount we have to deduct eps and WHY?
1. on max. limit i.e. 6500/-rs (541)
OR
2. on 6500/30*28 = 6067/-rs (505)

541 becouse the employee earn basic more than 6500 means in that types of conditions the pf eps amt is not calculated on present days in month for more detail u can call me on 9759855469

Actual wage to be considered is Rs.6500/-, in that case contribution to be calculated on working days like salary. So Deduction should be on 6500 X 28/30 =6067 i.e Rs.505/-. Regards Swapna

thanx swapna for your valuable info, but as you saw earlier mr. dheeraj told there is no any criteria for present days in a month there is a fixed amount of 541/- rs..
so i am confused, can you given any explanation for this.
waiting for your reply........

how could you say like that
1. if the epf salary is more than 6500, than
2. eps wages will be 6500 (541).
and
1. if the epf wages is less the 6500, than
2. eps wages will be the actual epf wages and the eps will be (eps wages * 8.33 % )

I am also saying that Mr. swapna is right but only when the employee basic rate is 6500 or less.when the basic and da of employee is 10000 and worked 29 days so the employee earn 9667 that amount is bigger to 6500 so an organisation show the contribution of employee pf is780................
So don't confused Mr. rana...............

thanx mr. dheeraj,
in the above content, your explanation is nice, you explain each & every thing clearly but what about the EPS amount...?
if you looked at my thread from the starting, my question was only for EPS CEILING.
