if an employee apply for a leave for some unavoidable urgent work. around 4 -5 days ahead. and next person who can take the charge is available in the department. Can the employeir refuse his leave? is their any rule / judgement regarding this . pl. provide

Yes. It is the right of employee. But generally nobody will refuse to sanction leave if such above situation is there. Regards, Vinod Mahadik HR Exe.

As far approval of leave is concern every employee has the right to avail leave same has been mentioned in shops and establishment & factory acts
now as you have mentioned if for some unavoidable reason the employee wants leave then many factors needs to be check
how much critical is that unavoidable reason
what is the total amount of leave balance available
