This is Keerthi,pursuing my final year MBA (HR).Im carrying out my final year project at the company named ABB.ABB has totally 585 employees in this branch.ABB's HR insisted me to do a project covering WORK DIVERSITY,CULTURAL DIVERSITY,ATTRITION,JOB SATISFACTION. My project period is from April 17th 2012 to June 4th 2012. I seek ur help, seniors, to guide what and how to do my project & how to prepare my questionnaire.

Thank you for the query. You need to first read scholarly articles on the topics to see what others have done, how and why that way. Next discuss with the HR person what they would like to get out of the study given the time and cost constraints. For example, would they like you to conduct an exploratory study or prove some hypotheses. Please see my posts on Research Methodology and What an MBA Project means.

Company in which Im carrying out my project has changed the area i should do in. They have told me to do in CHANGE MANAGEMENT,RETENTION & TOP MANAGEMENT RELATION WITH EMPLOYEES. I went through the research methodology slides of yours, which u told me.

Sir, I dont have a guide neither in my institution nor in my company to guide me, the company has asked me to give the

1.Topic 2.Aim 3.Objective with in 2 days. Please do help me to work on my project on the whole.

Sir, the company(Chennai branch), in which i work has various teams (Sweden team, Australian team, Dubai team,USA team..& so on) of engineers, and each team works for ABB in other countries respectively. The thing I have to do in CHANGE MANAGEMENT is, when a employee is changed from one to team(example:Australian team) to another team ( UK team),are the employes willing to change,are they adaptable,are they comfort,with it.

In RETENTION, I have to find out the expectation of the employees only with RATING 3 & RATING 4 (the company gives 1,2,3 & 4 Ratings to employees based on their peformance) , inoder to retain them

In MANAGENT RELATION WITH EMPLOYESS, I have to find are the employees easily accesible with the top management or if there is a difficulty in contacting the top management through heirarchy order. Are the employees aware about the beneficiary tools (Example : Maternity leave, other concessions) that favour the employees and if they are aware are the tools made easy to benefit the employees in time.

Sir,this is what my project concept is. Please to guide me , if I could carry out my project as a comparison between these topics or shall i carry out it as separate entity. How shall i proceed?

Thank you for clearly stating what they have asked you to do. The answer to your query is in your response. You have listed the objectives; you only need to summarise the same. For example, regarding retention, "What makes high rated employees to leave the company or stay with the company?" To study this you not only need to ask questions of people who have stayed but ask people who have left as to why they left and what would have made them stay (not easy to get unless you have exit interview records).

What do you mean by "... comparison between these topics..."? Whether you take an individual objective and do an in-depth study or take all three and do an exploratory study depends upon what the company wants you to do. You need to go back to the person in charge and ask him/her. Do not forget that your study needs to be academically sound and needs approval from your institution.

The one on change of persons from one team to another seems promising. I do not know how much you know about TEAMS. Please read www.gittprogram.org/files/Teams.pdf found at Google Digesting the material there may give you further ideas.

By comparison i meant, if i could could carry out a comparative analysis between the topics or if i could carry out each topic individually. I should also consider my project duration too ( till june 2nd). Sure , sir, I will get my confirmation from my institution at each stage of my project.
