Hi all,

For your info, I'm a "she", not "he".

And yep, I only mentioned negative side of her. Not to say that I'm a perfect person. But I have been asking myself over and over again for the past few days, I did not do wrong to her. The situation has become worse right now, my colleague is even avoiding me for lunch or for whatever. My other colleagues had told me that she is the one who could not think wisely and not matured, even her closest friend at work has commented the same.

I have come to a conclusion yesterday, I will take K's advise.

And since I'm happy working here, and happy getting together with everybody else, why make myself unhappy just because of one person?

I will move on and focus on my capability. If I'm not capable, I would not be running the whole HR dept alone at this age. Call it ego, I am proud of myself. :) Guess for those who are running the dept alone are deserved to be proud of themselves too.

And what's more, you could not asking for everybody to love you, that is just too greedy.

Thank you all for your advice, really appreciate it.

Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none. ~ William Shakespeare

Hi
Its a common problem were ever you go 90% companies have such kind of problem. Basically its not a problem HR head thinks without them Company could not progress and Other department heads also thinks the same that without them company will not progress or work will not be
acheived. So dont be harsh on yourself try to ignore negative points. Try to find out patiently that wat is bothering her about you. And you continue your good work.

Yes, K. You're right. You can't make everyone happy at all times. That's what my boss has been telling me too; you can't satisfy everybody. No matter how well you did, definitely there will be somebody who dissatisfied with it.
Yes, I am keeping most of my colleagues smiling. And that's important.
Thanks for your supportive remarks, K.
Thank you all for making my day and teach me something. Thanks.
Cheers,
Ashley

hi
Almost all companies & other depts. feels that HR is a burden. They want HR only during salary time. Wait until she gets HR related problem then teach her the importance of HR. If the situation is too worse/demanding go out of the way and create a HR problem to her and then know the importance of HR.
Experience is good teacher than preacher.
We people of HR fraternity should find a solution for this.

Dear Ashley,
I've read your and everyones opinion.
I would rather like to ask you a question as to what bothers you if she isn't feeling good about you?
Does her agreement to your existence in the organisation actually matters?
If she does not value you that's her matter. Its common be it any were you'll find such people all across.
You know what role an HR does in an org. this blue-eyed won't be contacted by management for increments, appraisals and grevance handling.
I would rather say why to even think of establishing a rapport with some one who doesn't appreciate you. Had this an attitude of your management a serious thought was to be given. Incase of an employeee the choce still lies with you.
Enjoy Appriciation & Discard all Negative vibes. Once you give this flame a good air definately it would grow. Ignore and see the difference.

For Everyone out here,
1. The problem is common, but it doesn't mean its trivial. A small mosquito can ruin your nights sleep.
2. Its difficult to change someone's behaviour, so try to be strong when things aren't going your way.
3. Be assertive without being acrimonious.
4. Despite all the temptations to get into a mud-pit fight, avoid it and concentrate on your work.
5. If your work is good, majority of the times it WILL be recongnised by your bosses, collegues and subordinates.
6. Finally when you can do nothing about a situation, Lie Low, Keep doing your work and Hope like hell that the storm passes over.

There is a saying "Kill them with kindness".
If you are always kind and respectful despite this coworkers attitute, people will recognize this over time.
I would hang in there and always be professional and kind.
