I am starting a new set-up with new set of employees. I strongly believe in sound HR system to ensure complete satisfaction of each of my colleagues. But I am a marketing person & have no experience of designing HR systems right from recruiting till exit of an employee. This includes performance appraisals, and many other processes & systems. I can\'t hire a full HR executive for this. Can anyone help me design HR system for my company?

Setting up HR system for a start up company is a tedious process which involves a lot of time and effort.
Start with the Mission statement of the company. What is the mission of the company? what are the values of the company? How to apply these values to achieve the mission of the company?
I would strongly suggest that you start the HR system with simple mandatory things like Company application form, employee contract draft, Holiday policy, Leave policy etc and slowly introduce other policies like recruitment policy, induction, training, disciplinary, absence policy, ID card policy, appraisals, etc.
I strongly recommend you consult a professional HR for this. They will draft a policy for your company and you can imply the policy, they might charge a small amount not sure.

Thanks for your kind suggestion. What I mean by HR system is policies,rules, guidelines etc. and not by any software system. We are not big enough to have any ERP solution. We have Tally ERP 9.0 as of now which is sufficient for our current needs.
We need guidance and advise to develop a robust HR system as explained above.

If you are not able to engage HR persons you may ask local consultant for providing necessary facilities. This is new company therefore you may also consult your management what they required and then finalised which is the best practice to adopt to your company.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion. I had done some of the basic work as you suggested. But I do not know how to proceed further. I had taken some cues from my experiences of working with some good companies. I had saved a copy of their rules & regulations also as I was very clear from the beginning that one day I shall have my own business. So I am at that point now. But they are outdated policies and are helpful to certain extent only.
Pl suggest, how to proceed further. As far as hiring an external agency is concerned, I also thought of doing it but I am not sure whether I shall be able to afford them and moreover, should I invest my time & money in this exercise at this stage of my business. Furthermore, I do not know about any such agency, who takes up such kind of exercise. If you know anybody, please share their contact details. I will explore this possibility & its feasibility.
