Friends,
Our company is a service industry dealing in insurance product. One of our Senior Official lost his leg in accident when he was on duty. We are not covered under ESI Act. His Salary is above Rs. 1 Lakh p.m. Is he eligible for workmen/employee compensation benefit. Please advice.

Going by the staus and nature of work, Iam afraid he will be covered under the Employees' Compensation Act 1923. You need to devise such policy to cover senior employees and executives. It covers clerks , drivers, mecahnics.welders and persons employed in similar capacities.

Dear Mr. Parvez,
Roads and Building covers under Central Minimum Wage act.
If the area of work covers under ESIC then ESIC is applicable. If not, then you have to take WC policy(Workmen Compensation) which acts as isurance for the employee.
Regarding PF: PF will be calculated 12% on basic-Employee Contribution and
12% on basic- Empoyer contribution
ESIC-4.75% on Gross
1.75% on gross will be deducted from gross (Employee Contribution)
Regarding Labour Companies; what exactly you want to know???

Parvez!!
your employer always ask you about labour compliance!!!! I think they are very bad people!!!@@##
they ask you something which is a complex issue involving almost 20 labour related acts........Policy.......Schemes........... and so on. !!!!
Generally they are keen to know about the returns required to be filed under these acts before various statutory bodies including the EPFO, ESI, LIC, Factory Inspectorate etc. etc.
Search out in the citehr for compliance list. i am sure you will get it. follow those and go through the forms available under the schedule section of all applicable labour acts you will get an idea atleast to tacle your interviewers.
But .........But .........I am not sure whether you will be able to manage your work with that or not. it will require pretty good time to understand it throughly.
My best wishes are with you..........
