Dear Gregor,
Promotion depends on the existing opportunities in the firm vis-a-vis to the best of capabilities which a talent has to offer. The readiness can be worked upon, through apprenticeship for the role. Support by the leadership team, to groom and work through the learning curve, will remain essential.
You may draw upon a standard rule to set the expectations of the talent who may join your firm. This standardization would depend on the bandwidth of opportunities in your firm and the support that you, as an employer, can provide the talent to grow.
Please share a little more about your firm , in which sector does it belong to, what are the growth plans for your organization and the strength of your firm. The inputs from your will help us define the policy and the method for you.
