Call it a positive insight, a prophecy or a voice from within, the message is clear. Change in any form gives rise to both opportunities and risks. A career switch involves a major change in life and hence must be a well thought out and planned initiative. Patience and persistence are two virtues that are very critical to those contemplating a career switch.

Never make a career switch only because of frustration with the present set up or because of a 'grass is greener on the other side syndrome'. The compelling reason for any career switch must be an opportunity to realize one's passion or because one gets a significant career growth path opportunity. Never forget that there are no free lunches in the world and that means a career switch always comes at a cost; just ensure your willing to pay that price for the value you perceive to be getting in return.
