Dear All,
I want to know the process of appraisal.
As my company is engineering services pvt. ltd. which include sales, services stores, installation, accounts and purchase department.
I want to know what are the key steps to guage employee performance.
Please help!

Performance appraisal is a tool to enhance the productivity of an Individual and thus help the organization meet its goals and mission
We have different types of appraisal systems available and used in various organizations
For engineering sectors, i feel balance score card can be a good fit in which you will first define and set the goals for the organization and then take it to the department level and individual level so on so forth
Find below the process and you may fine tune it accordingly
Identify Goals / KRAs and KPIs
Prepare the competency dictionary
Identify and Set Competencies for each role (job)
Review Process:
Set Goals - Department / Individuals (beginning of the year)
You may have 2 or 3 rounds of reviews (End of year)
Self Review
Supervisor Review
Skip Level Review (to avoid bias)
HR Review (If required with Individual employees)
HR Review - Normalization (Forced Ranking)
Communication
