I am attaching notification dated 3.1.2012 issued by Government of Maharashtra amending Maharashtra Shops & Establishments Rules. Amendment provides for online submission of application for registration, renewal of Registration Certificates and exemptions, returns and any other applications.

The amendment provides for the following:
1) All applications under the Act will have to be made electronically and fees will have to be paid electronically.
2) Notice stating “No child labourers are engaged” will have to be displayed on the notice board.
3) Application for registration (Form A) and renewal of registration (Form B) have been revised and detailed information has been prescribed.
4) Monthly return has been prescribed for the first time in Form AA. However, submission of monthly returns shall be monthly in case of more than 50 employees; at the end of quarter in case of 21 to 50 employees; at the end of six months in case of 11 to 20 employees and at the end of year in case of upto 10 employees.

Dear All,
It is necessary for all establishments to read the whole of Form B in advance so that they will be prepared for applying renewal in DECEMBER 2012. The reason is every etablishment, especially small ones, may not have infrastructure / data asked for in fORM B.
